These courses are designed for individuals who need a CPR AED course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements, or simply wish to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. The courses cater to those with limited or no medical training, providing the skills and knowledge necessary to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.

Course Objectives: Participants will learn:

  • The fundamentals of first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use.
  • How to effectively recognize and respond to adult, child, and infant cardiac arrest.
  • The knowledge to identify and alleviate choking in an adult, child, or infant.

American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Course

Course Overview

The American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed to train participants to save lives in critical situations. Suitable for healthcare providers and public safety professionals, this course equips learners with the skills and knowledge needed to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. The training combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, ensuring readiness to perform lifesaving interventions in emergencies.

This course is ideal for healthcare professionals including nurses, medical assistants, physical therapists, and any other healthcare staff who must hold a BLS certification. It is also highly beneficial for first responders such as police, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians.

Course Objectives

By the end of the BLS course, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the signs of someone needing life support.
  2. Perform high-quality chest compressions for adults, children, and infants.
  3. Deliver appropriate ventilations with a barrier device.
  4. Use an automated external defibrillator (AED) effectively.

  • Module 3: High-Quality CPR – Techniques for performing solo or team CPR, depth and rate of compressions, ventilation skills using barrier devices, and effective switchovers in team settings.
  • Module 4: Use of AED – Safe and effective use of automated external defibrillators across different ages.
  • Module 5: Special Considerations – Handling special cases such as advanced airway management, opioid overdoses, and moving injured persons only when necessary.
  • Practical Skills Session – Hands-on practice and simulation of various BLS scenarios with individual feedback.
  • Evaluation and Certification Test – Assessment of skills and knowledge through practical and written tests.
Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification valid for two years. This certification includes a digital certificate, verifiable online through a unique certificate ID.
